One Christmas Eve

by Frank Bramwell

It’s Christmas Eve – tension’s high, expectations are at peak level, and there’s definitely something in the air. The play is a set of 3 inter-cutting monologues that tell three different sides of Christmas Eve as Mom, Dad and daughter face the coming Christmas Day. As each character’s stories unfold the audience see the face of Christmas as it changes over the years.

This new play has been workshopped, and it develops the innovative Theatre style that inamoment Theatre Company have evolved over the years; strong emphasis on words and acting, unlocking the power of the audience’s imagination through monologues, and focusing on life in Birmingham (the play forms part of the BrumBeats cycle of plays).

Rehearsals will take place over the next 6 weeks at theWorkshop in the Jewellery Quarter, dates to be finalised (where possible they will be tailored around cast commitments). Generally the rehearsals will be a mixture of evenings, weekdays and weekends, with daytime rehearsals in the week of the performances.

Performances will be at St.Paul’s Church in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, December 11, 12, 13 & 14th.

The fee is an all-inclusive £150, to include attendance at rehearsals and performances. No expenses will be paid and actors should have access to their own accommodation in Birmingham. Auditions will be held in the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham, on Saturday 18th October.

Closing date is 12th October 2014.
